Children, young people and adults present artistic achievements in visual arts, music, dance, theatre, and poetry. All of the festival’s participants embody the idea of integration. All – not only the people acting on the scene, but also their instructors, caretakers, and the audience. They show how to break barriers and overcome inhibitions, create an atmosphere of mutual acceptance and understanding. Working together and common experiences create the strongest bond between participants.

Thanks to art, people who deal with special difficulties discover and recognize their own abilities, fulfil their need for self-realization. They gain the chance to exist more fully in society. More than simply exist – they enrich their environment. They prove the notion that art opens and gives the possibility of overcoming pain and alienation.

The festival of artistic creativity of disabled persons is not a contest; what is most important is participation. It is also not a centralized event. Quite the contrary, “The Joy of Creation” embodies the principle of cooperation of many subjects to reach a common goal. That is why the thematic events take place in different places in Mazovia, with the participation of local cultural institutes.
